| Seinfeld laughing over Carrey's antics |
Remember when funny guys like Eddie Murphy, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Bill Murray, Will Ferrell and Jack Black lord over the box-office with their comedy movies? We would line up to watch Murphy in The Nutty Professor, Carrey in The Mask or Sandler in Big Daddy.
Now our comedies are mostly buddy movies where Ferrell teams up with guys like Mark Wahlberg. And we also have a lot of ensemble comedies and team-ups of various actors like the recent Jumanji movie with The Rock, Jack Black and Kevin Hart. Hart is one funny stand-up who I hope will one day star in his own film.

But the big name comedians might have found a new home in Netflix. Adam Sandler starred in four made-for-Netflix movies. His pal Rob Schneider has his own sitcom, the outrageously funny Real Rob. And this month, Jack Black's movie The Polka King debuts.
And here's another treat for comedy fans. The talk/comedy/car show Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee moved to Netflix from its previous home Crackle.
The show is hosted by Jerry Seinfeld who starred in the hit pre-internet sitcom Seinfeld. Unlike the typical talk show, there is no studio, no desk, no couch, no big band and no sidekicks. Instead Seinfeld takes his guests on a vintage car for a trip to have coffee. And right there in the car, stories and funny anecdotes are shared. Guests include Jim Carrey, Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart, David Letterman , Jay Leno and Kristen Wiig.
So if you are missing the good ol' days of watching Carrey or Sandler on the big screen, fret no more. They are all on Netflix.
Postscript: David Letterman is back with a new talkshow in Netflix called My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.
